Ultrasound

Our technologists use the most advanced ultrasound equipment. Our list of comprehensive ultrasound services include:

  • Obstetrical and gynecologic
  • Vascular
  • Abdominal
  • Thyroid
  • Gallbladder
  • Renal
  • Lower extremity/Venous Doppler
  • Superficial lump testing

Breast ultrasound is available in the same department as mammography. There is no need to move from department to department.

Bone densitometry

A bone densitometry test measures bone loss and is a non-invasive imaging procedure of the spine, femurs and total body. We are able to detect subtle bone changes such as bone fractures to evaluate and diagnose conditions such as osteoporosis.

Stereotactic breast biopsy

Terre Haute Regional Hospital offers stereotactic breast biopsy, which is a special way to have a breast biopsy done as an outpatient procedure without general anesthesia. A trained physician performs the biopsy by numbing the area of the breast and then strategically placing a needle to remove tissue from the area of concern. Our breast specialists are by your side throughout the entire process. The procedure takes approximately two hours to complete and the patient is ready to resume her normal day with just a few activity restrictions for 24 hours.

Terre Haute Regional Hospital offers birth center tours and classes for pregnant women. Our prenatal classes and birth center tours offer families current information and advice about pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood.
