Terre Haute, Indiana – Terre Haute Regional Hospital was recently recognized as a 2019 Pioneers in Quality Expert Contributor due to its efforts in leading the knowledge and utilization of electronic clinical quality measures, also call eCOMs.

Health care organizations use eCOMs to collect and transmit data about the quality of care patients receive.

Regional was one of only five hospitals/health care systems chosen by The Joint Commission. The commission, founded in 1951, is an independent, nonprofit organization that evaluates and certifies over 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States in order to improve health care for the public. It is the nation’s largest and oldest accrediting body in health care.

As an expert contributor, Terre Haute Regional Hospital will have an opportunity to present during the upcoming Pioneers in Quality 2019 Proven Practices webinar series and share its eCOM successes and practices. The health system also will be featured in the Proven Practices Collection in November.

The other four expert contributors are Baptist Health, Jacksonville, Fla., Johns Hopkins Health System, Baltimore; Memorial Hermann/QPSIC & ISD Enterprise Analytics, Houston; and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Pittsburgh.
