TERRE HAUTE, IN, July 14, 2008 Terre Haute Regional Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in the Wabash Valley, today announced that it has acquired the HealthSouth building and property adjacent to its campus. The 58,000-square-foot building, which is located on six acres, was purchased for $7 million.
“We have taken this step as a way to meet the future healthcare needs of Wabash Valley residents,” said Chris Hill, CEO of Terre Haute Regional Hospital. “This expansion of our campus better positions us to respond to those needs in an effective manner.””
Hill said that the hospital has developed preliminary plans for utilization of the building and additional acreage, expecting the development process to be completed sometime late next year. The former HealthSouth structure, which was built in 1991, is located just south of Hospital Lane and the main hospital structure.
